My solo exhibition opens from 5 pm on 1 December at Kamilė Gallery’s State Buildings space — it would be wonderful to see you there.
The exhibition will be opened by Dr Robert Cook, Curator of Design and International Art at The Art Gallery of Western Australia.
Consisting largely of works on paper, including editions of colour etchings and aquatints produced with master printmaker Basil Hall, this exhibition explores the paradoxical nature of space and time in images. With detours into cosmology and geology — drawing on my February residency in Switzerland at Atelier Mondial — the sense of the empty void of the surface is guided by study of the ancient Chinese philosophical work, the Dao De Jing.
This will be my second solo exhibition of the year, but my first in Perth since 2020.
